As a French student--some 27 years ago, I saw a film at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. Can't remember the title to save my life. Plot went something like this--Old France and the townpeople had a habit of picking a young girl and bricking her up in a hut where she was supposed to spend the remainer of her days as the town's "saint." The story was amazing--told from her point of view-how she had to find beauty (and God) even in the dark place to which she was confined , She had only a tiny window big enough for prople to leave her food.(no human contact ever allowed)

Sound familiar to anyone? It sure would be worth seeing again.
Thanks for any help....M.
